Upon arrival (around $3,500$ m / $11,483$ ft a.s.l.), your expert guide leads you through the magnificent concentric circular terraces, explaining their function as a unique center for agricultural experimentation and acclimatization.Next, we head to the village of Maras, famous for its colonial architecture, and continue toward the famous Salineras de Maras (Salt Mines). From a designated viewpoint, we observe the stunning mosaic of thousands of small, terraced salt pools cascading down the hillside, fed by a natural subterranean saltwater spring. You will learn about the artisanal extraction process, a technique unchanged since the Incas. We take a break for lunch, often in the heart of the Sacred Valley (Urubamba), where you enjoy a nutritious meal (either a box lunch or local buffet, depending on the service). After concluding the visits and lunch, we embark on the return journey to Cusco, arriving in the city in the mid-afternoon (approximately 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.), concluding the service near the main square or at your hotel.
