Your adventure begins with a morning pickup from your accommodation in Cusco. We start a picturesque drive through the Sacred Valley to the Ollantaytambo train station, a route offering stunning views of Andean landscapes, Inca agricultural terraces, and traditional towns. The train journey to Aguas Calientes is an experience in itself, traversing a deep canyon and following the meandering course of the Urubamba River, as the ecosystem progressively changes from highlands to cloud forest. Once in Aguas Calientes, our staff assists you with the transfer to your hotel. You will have the afternoon free to explore this unique town, visit the local artisan markets, or relax in the famous hot springs, preparing for the big day. In the evening, you receive a detailed briefing with your professional guide, where the details and strategy for the next morning’s visit are finalized. This coordination is crucial to maximize your time in the citadel. Aguas Calientes is the perfect base, situated right at the foot of Machu Picchu Mountain. Dinner is on your own, allowing you to choose from the varied gastronomic offerings that fuse Peruvian and international flavors, while immersing yourself in the atmosphere of this magical gateway. A good rest is essential for the early and energetic start that awaits you.

The second day marks the climax of the tour: the visit to the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu. We leave very early by bus (CONSETUR) to be among the first to enter the sanctuary, which offers the opportunity to see the sunrise if weather conditions permit, a spectacle of light and shadow over the ruins that will take your breath away. Once inside, your expert guide leads you through the most important areas, including the Temple of the Sun, the Intihuatana (sun dial), the Temple of the Three Windows, and the Main Plaza. The guided tour lasts approximately 2.5 to 3 hours, providing you with a deep understanding of the Inca history, astronomy, and architecture. After the guided tour, you will have free time to explore the citadel on your own, capture unforgettable photographs, or simply sit and admire the magnificence of the surroundings. After your time at the top, you take the bus back to Aguas Calientes, where you will have time for lunch before heading to the train station. The train takes you back to Ollantaytambo, where our ground transportation will be waiting to take you back to Cusco city comfortably and safely, dropping you off near the Plaza de Armas or at your hotel, thus concluding an unforgettable experience with the imposing image of Machu Picchu etched in your memory.
